You Can Use WordPress for Website ManagementWordPress one of the most – if not THE most – popular blogging platform, but many sites use the content management functions of WordPress to manage the content for their entire site. Using WordPress as a publishing platform for your website makes sense if you’re looking for an easy way to maintain your website, add or change content easily, maintain a uniform look-and-feel for the pages on your website, and manage the search engine optimization of each page.

WordPress Website Management Features to Consider

This is by no means an exhaustive list of the website management features available through WordPress, but hopefully, it will show you why WordPress has become so popular for website management.

Why is content management so important on a website? Website management has become so important because so many people use the Internet to find information. If you’ve ever done a Google search and gotten more than a million hits returned to you, you already know that the real trick to using an Internet search engine is being able to find the right information!

WordPress lends itself to making information easy for search engines to find and understand. When the search engine can find information, and decides that the information is highly relevant to a user’s search, it presents the information in the form of search engine results, and ranks its findings in terms of “relevance” to the user’s search terms.

The display of search results is critical for websites (and businesses) because most searchers don’t tend to look past the first page of search engine results. Only the most dedicated searchers will move to the second page of search results, and very few users actually ever make it to the third page of search results. Being on the second page of a Google search could effectively torpedo a business, no matter how relevant the business or its website might actually be to the searcher.

In my next few posts, I’ll discuss the specific features of WordPress that make it a great choice for website management, including both built-in and add-on search engine optimization features that can help your website stand out from the crowd.
