Website redesign? Knowing when it is time
Website redesign could refresh your business
Old, out-of-date information. Websites that have a lot of old, out-of-date information aren’t helping anybody. Likewise, if your website is missing products or services that that you now offer, it can’t help you build your business. Following a period of little or no maintenance, sometimes a web redesign is just what the doctor ordered.
Non-responsive. Websites aren’t always at their best behavior when they encounter mobile devices – unless they’re designed to, that is. The number of mobile devices in use today means that you could be missing out on a lot of business if your website can’t play nice with smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices. If your current website doesn’t support many different display platforms, it’s definitely time for a website redesign.
Confusing or complicated navigation. It can be tough to look at your website with “fresh eyes,” especially when you see it every day. It’s very important, however, to keep the new visitor’s experience in mind. If a new visitor can’t find information on your website, or has to take a complicated path to get to where they want to be, it may be time for a website redesign that focuses on simplifying navigation, and improving search capabilities. In fact, improving the user experience might be the only reason you need to redesign a website.
Identity changes. If your business identity changes, a website redesign is critical. What is your business identity? It’s your logo, your colors, your tag lines and other visuals that customers use to recognize your business among the competition. If these change for any reason, a website redesign project is definitely in order. One benefit of a website redesign is that you can update colors and other elements on your site to improve its performance.
Old graphics and images. Graphics and images improve the look and feel of your website, but over time, old graphics and images can become a liability. A website redesign project can give you the opportunity to add eye-catching video, high-resolution, high-performance graphics and animations to your website. If you haven’t touched your website images in awhile, that’s a good indication that you’re due for a website refresh.
